Marilyn’s Eternal Flame

Liza Power of the Sydney Morning Herald examines the Marilyn phenomenon, interviewing David Wills, Australian-born author of MM: Metamorphosis; Dr Lois Banner (MM: Personal) and Laurent Morlet, director of With Her, a new documentary about Marilyn’s fans:

”’There is something unexplainable about their love for her,” Morlet says. ”She is a confidante, a friend, a guide, a support for them, usually since a very young age. I don’t think they ‘see’ specific things in her as much as just feeling a need for her, often without knowing why.”’

One Response to Marilyn’s Eternal Flame

Joe DiMaggio knew the secret of Marilyn’s magnetic attraction and the fact that on his death bed he said “I will see Marilyn soon” indicates his enduring love for her. I believe Marilyn’s gentleness, her sincere devotion to her friends, her disinterest in material assets, her lifelong search for love that was denied her in childhood and the vile and horrible treatment she received from those in control in Hollywood and Washington that caused her early death make Marilyn the greatest loved and remembered Iconic Legend of our times.
